Taking her love note with her, Shandurai(Newton) has snuck up to
Mr. Kinsky's (Thewlis) room where she removes his clothes and
gets into bed with him. He wakes up after his drunken hibernation to
find her note and then find her by her bedside just as her recently
freed husband arrives. It is the ultimate expression of love, yet
in his drunken state he has no memory of it and she leaves him like
it never happened. He's been loved, but sadly unable to ever recall it.
