Coming home after a lovely dance at a neighbour's house, Jeffrey(MacLachlan) and
Sandy(Dern) are confronted by her ex-boyfriend Mike(Stovitz). But a scuffle is defused
with Dorothy(Rossellini) is seen completely naked and battered, waiting at Jeffrey's
door. They quickly take her to Sandy's house and call an ambulance, but Dorothy's
deranged ramblings about her love and need for Jeffrey upsets Sandy, who earlier
revealed her love for him. Although clothed, Sandy is the most vulnerable as
she stands alone, seeing such a terrible sight and hearing words of affection from
another woman.
