at night and now consummate their relationship and love for one another, by
making love shortly after exchanging their vows. This is Wallace's most vulnerable
portrayal in the movie. Both couples are naked, in the cold, in the dark, amongst the forest, with
only each other and their love to keep them warm. It is the last time Wallace will
remain a common man, and foreshadows his eventual defeat for the sake of love and
most importantly, trust.
