Back from his journey of self discovery, Tristan (Pitt) rediscovers young Isabel Two (Lombard) who is no longer
a little girl, but a mature young woman. The two fall in love and before long are married. The setting changes
quickly as their years together go by and their first son Samuel grows up. But they are merely a
backdrop to Susannah's (Ormond) somber letter to Tristan. For all the well-worded intentions, what
she really feels is not written nor said, but revealed in a brief cut. Tristan and Isabel look so
natural together and her heart knows it, but is unable to let go of her love for Tristan. Soon, her
unrequited love will destroy her.
