While going through the country side on his daily duties, Ugolin (Auteuil) stumbles across a young woman (Beart)
bathing by a spring and is quick to follow her as she moves away. Slowly, he inches towards
the sound of the harmonica music and tries to get a closer look at the naked form of the beautiful
young girl as she dances and frolicks not knowing someone is watching her. There is a primal level
of voyeurism everyone can understand in this scene, as well as Ugolin's blossoming infatuation. Subconsciously,
he feels he has entered a private meeting with her, triggering an affectionate, emotional response. He'll go
to great lengths to be with her. Unfortunately, she has no interest and in an ironic way, this will be
her real revenge.
