The film opens up with Detective Catherine Palmer (Barkin) investigating
the murder scene of Dorothy Samenov (Daans). She is found lying on her bed,
completely naked and mutilated, with nipples, eyelids, and various pieces of
flesh missing. She's also heavily made up, similar to another crime Palmer
is investigating. It would appear that a serial killer is on the loose, but
what do the victims have in common so far? Although at first the body appears
very synthetic and mannequin-like, it turns out it's just the makeup because as the camera pans
over Lara Daans body, you can seek her blink.
