Lord Byron's(Grant) mind is pre-occupied with the death of his
pet and the funeral ceremony than making love with Claire(Hurley),
but that doesn't stop her from trying to get him focused in the
right direction. As she disrobes, she asks Byron to treat
Mary(McInnery) more nicely and so he shall as Mary's birthday
approaches. Perhaps as a farce, the passion between the two
is unusually business-like and proper. Sign of the times?
