In a moment of peace, Kyle(Biehn) reveals his true motives for volunteering for the daunting
mission of protecting John's mother Sarah (Hamilton). Somewhere in the loneliness of his
future, he found comfort in her image and fell in love with Sarah even before they met.
He's travelled in time just to be with her, knowing if his mission succeeded, he would be
with her forever. It sounds stupid, but she accepts it and welcomes him into her. Their love,
spurred by their ordeal, merely gives an excuse for Cameron to add a little nudity into
the film.
