What is the purpose of this scene? Is it to show
the sexual tension between Book (Ford) and Rachel (McGillis)?
Or could it be an approving nod to the Amish community to say,
"Our women can be quite attractive"? For either reasons,
this scene is of little value and is left as a gratuitous
nude shot considering the formula to arrive at such a point (Book's
attraction towards Rachel) is standard Hollywood convention.
